OctaFX, a major player in the Forex market, needed to significantly increase the number of new active users ready to start trading on its platform. Their in-house client acquisition efforts had stopped delivering the desired results, as attempts to boost traffic were causing a sharp decline in ROI. To overcome this challenge, OctaFX sought our expertise.

Tasks

  • Attract new users who would not only install the app but also actively trade

  • Maximize ROI without compromising traffic quality

  • Increase the lifetime value (LTV) of each new user.

Strategy and implementation

Unlocking Data Access
We proposed that OctaFX grant access to All Media Sources (AMS) through an agency integration with Appsflyer. This became a pivotal move, enabling us to gain deeper insights into user behavior, including both organic and inorganic traffic from other media sources. To ensure confidentiality, we signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). 

With AMS access, we were able to build look-alike audiences, exclude irrelevant users, and avoid retargeting those who had already installed the app.

Creative Development

Using the insights from AMS, we crafted a series of creatives specifically designed to attract users interested in active trading. A/B testing allowed us to identify the most effective approaches for our targeted segments. As a result, 80% of new users began actively trading on the platform. This success allowed us to move to the next phase—optimizing creatives and scaling the campaigns. 

Scaling Up

At the same time, OctaFX raised the minimum deposit to enhance user LTV, which attracted more financially capable and engaged users. Each deposit became more valuable to the company, significantly increasing the average revenue per user. As a result, this change led to a higher overall ROI from the users we brought in.

Results

  • 17,285 new active traders acquired

  • Total revenue generated from these users: $204,000

Conclusion

This case highlights the importance of deep data integration for improving traffic quality. Access to AMS was crucial for more precise targeting, while personalized creative testing and increasing the minimum deposit amount led to a significant ROI boost.
